2. Description of Service

SnippetForge is an AI-powered video captioning and processing platform that allows you to:

• Upload videos for automated transcription using AI (Whisper model)
• Generate and customize captions with various styles
• Render videos with burned-in captions
• Manage multiple video projects in workspaces
• Purchase processing credits on a pay-as-you-go basis

The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To use the Service, you must:

• Provide a valid email address
• Complete authentication using OTP (One-Time Password)
• Be at least 13 years of age
• Comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or any other reason at our sole discretion.

4. Credits and Payments

4.1 Credit System

Our Service operates on a credit-based system where 1 credit = 1 minute of video processing. Credits are used for video transcription and processing.

4.2 Purchasing Credits

• Credits are purchased through Stripe payment processing
• All prices are displayed in EUR and include applicable taxes
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe
• You will receive a confirmation email after successful purchase

4.3 Credit Usage

• Credits never expire
• Credits are non-refundable except as required by law
• Credits are deducted based on actual video duration processed
• Creating unlimited caption variations does not consume additional credits
• Credits cannot be transferred between accounts

4.4 Refund Policy

Credit purchases are generally non-refundable. However, we may issue refunds at our sole discretion in cases of:

• Service failure resulting in unusable output
• Duplicate charges or billing errors
• Technical issues preventing service usage

Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of purchase to info@snippetforge.com.

5. Content and Intellectual Property

5.1 Your Content

You retain all rights to videos you upload. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to:

• Process and store your videos
• Generate transcriptions and captions
• Create processed video outputs
• Use AI services (Whisper) to transcribe audio

This license terminates when you delete your content or close your account.

5.2 Content Restrictions

You agree NOT to upload content that:

• Violates any laws or regulations
• Infringes intellectual property rights of others
• Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Depicts illegal activities, violence, or hate speech
• Contains pornographic or sexually explicit material
• Violates privacy rights of others
• Is intended to harass, threaten, or harm others

5.3 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by SnippetForge and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.

6. Video URL Imports

SnippetForge allows you to import videos from URLs for processing. By using this feature, you agree to the following:

6.1 Platform Support

YouTube is not currently supported. If you attempt to import a YouTube URL, the request will be rejected. We support importing videos from other video hosting platforms where direct download is permitted.

6.2 Ownership and Permission Requirements

You must be the original creator and copyright holder of any video you import via URL, OR you must have explicit written permission from the copyright holder to download and process the video.

6.3 Third-Party Platform Terms

Downloading videos from third-party platforms without proper authorization may violate their Terms of Service. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:

• You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to download and process any video
• You understand that unauthorized downloading may violate copyright laws and platform terms
• You have confirmed ownership or obtained necessary permissions before using this feature

6.4 Liability

SnippetForge assumes no liability for any copyright infringement, legal claims, or violations of third-party terms of service resulting from your use of the video URL import feature. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SnippetForge from any claims arising from your use of this feature.

6.5 Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to use the video URL import feature to:

• Download videos you do not own or have permission to use
• Circumvent any platform's content protection or access restrictions
• Mass-download or systematically archive third-party content
• Redistribute copyrighted content without authorization

7. AI Dubbing

SnippetForge offers AI Dubbing (Beta), which uses AI text-to-speech technology with preset voices to translate and dub videos into different languages. The feature does NOT clone the original speaker's voice - instead, it uses high-quality preset AI voices for each supported language. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

7.1 Authorization Requirements

You must have proper authorization to use the AI Dubbing feature:

• You must own or have rights to the original video content
• You must have all necessary rights to create derivative works (translations) from the original content
• You must have permission to distribute the translated content if applicable

7.2 Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to use the AI Dubbing feature to:

• Create content that falsely represents what someone has said
• Generate misleading media intended to deceive viewers
• Create content for fraud, defamation, harassment, or any illegal purpose
• Violate any person's rights or applicable laws
• Translate and distribute copyrighted content without proper authorization

7.3 User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of AI Dubbing complies with all applicable laws, including but not limited to laws regarding:

• Copyright and intellectual property rights
• Translation and derivative works
• Synthetic media disclosure requirements in your jurisdiction
• Content distribution regulations

7.4 Disclaimer of Liability

SNIPPETFORGE ASSUMES NO LIABILITY FOR ANY MISUSE OF THE AI DUBBING FEATURE.

SnippetForge provides the AI Dubbing technology as a tool. We do not monitor, review, or approve the content you create. You agree that:

• You bear full responsibility for all content created using AI Dubbing
• SnippetForge is not liable for any claims arising from your use of AI Dubbing
• You will indemnify SnippetForge against any claims related to your dubbed content
• SnippetForge may terminate your account immediately if we suspect misuse

7.5 Beta Status

AI Dubbing is currently in Beta. This means the feature may have limitations, produce imperfect results, or be modified or discontinued at any time. We make no guarantees regarding accuracy, quality, or availability of the dubbing output.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

8.1 Automatic Deletion

• Projects are automatically deleted after 30 days of inactivity
• Temporary processing files are deleted after 24 hours
• You will receive notifications before automatic deletion

8.2 Manual Deletion

You can delete individual projects, videos, or your entire account at any time through the Service interface. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

8.3 Data Retention After Account Deletion

After account deletion, we retain transaction records for legal and accounting purposes for up to 7 years as required by law.

9. Service Limitations

9.1 Fair Use

You agree to use the Service in good faith and not to abuse, overload, or attempt to exploit the Service.

9.2 File Limitations

• Maximum file size: 500MB per upload
• Supported formats: MP4, MOV, AVI, and other common video formats
• Processing time varies based on video length and server load

9.3 Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We specifically disclaim:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Guarantees of accuracy in AI-generated transcriptions
• Guarantees of specific processing times or results
• Responsibility for third-party service failures (Stripe, Replicate, etc.)

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SNIPPETFORGE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• Damages exceeding the amount you paid us in the last 12 months
• Issues caused by third-party services we integrate with

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SnippetForge from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Content you upload
• Violation of these Terms
• Violation of any rights of third parties

13. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with:

• Stripe: Payment processing (subject to Stripe's terms)
• Replicate/Whisper: AI transcription (subject to their terms)
• Resend: Email delivery (subject to their terms)

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices or service availability.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14.2 Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through:

1. Good faith negotiation between the parties
2. Mediation, if negotiation fails
3. Binding arbitration or courts in Sweden as a last resort

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SnippetForge regarding the Service.
